Do you love a gamer? I mean really, deeply, $2000 love them? If so, it might be worth dipping into the ol' 401k to fund this gift. CyberPower has just announced the coming of a new line of badass high-end gaming PCs with Intel Core i7 processors. The Xplorer series has some gorgeous specs, despite its terrible name. All of them come stock with Intel's new PM55 Express chipset. They also pack Intel's Turbo Boost technology.
You can choose to upgrade the chipset with an Nvidia GTS 250. The base-model starts with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 500 GB of space. The cheapest configuration costs $1499. If you step it up a notch, you can get an Nvidia GTX 280M graphics card, and a 1080p display with Blu-Ray drive. Performance comes with a price; the best Xplorers cost $1885 and $2119, respectively. For more information, or to order, visit CyberPower's website. These things are basically as close to a desktop as a laptop can get. Gaming is always going to be a little less comfortable within the confines of a laptop, but you're certainly not going to run into any performance issues with this monster.Posted on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 11:54:48 CST | by Robert Evans
