Apple Tablet Delayed Because Of Switch To OLED?

The rumors around the totally unconfirmed Apple Tablet have reached a new high this week. See this report to set the stage. Today Digitimes tops all iTablet rumors with a report claiming that Apple has delayed the iTablet Computer from a March 2010 release to the 2nd half of 2010. It gets better. Apple has decided to use a 9.7-inch OLED panel from LG Display and because of this switch the iTablet is delayed.
Digitimes does not stop here and claims further that Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), Quanta Computer and Pegatron Technology are to manufacture Apple's two tablet PC models: A 10.6-inch Apple Tablet will have a TFT LCD panel and the 9.7-inch Tablet will be the Apple OLED iTablet.
The prices Digitimes estimates for the Apple Tablets are through the roof. The OLED Tablet would cost $2,000 and the larger LCD version around $1,000. If bundled with 3G services that cost would not reach consumers fully, but the iTablet would definitely not sell in dimensions of the iPhone or the iPod.
If there is any truth to the above iTablet rumors than I think Apple, like me, still has no clue how to make a Tablet that is appealing to the mass market.
