Non-touchscreen smartphones like the BlackBerry Pearl are a dying breed, but I'm glad to see the line is going to carry on at least one step further with the 9100. Salomondrin.net (via Boy Genius) managed to get their hands on a new-model Pearl, and they've posted a quick video showing it in action. The 9100 looks great, the screen seems to have an excellent resolution, and the SureType keyboard looks less cramped than it could be.
The Pearl's codename is rumored to be either the Striker or the Stratus. It's going to pack 3G, WiFi, BlackBerry OS 5.0, the RIM optical trackpall, and the aforementioned keyboard. No information of price, carrier, or release date is out quite yet. It's nice to at least have proof that a new Pearl is en route, though.Posted on Sat, 21 Nov 2009 12:18:21 CST | by Robert Evans
