If you're a WinMo 6.5 devotee and Verizon is your carrier, the Samsung Omnia II (via Electronista) is just about the best buy you can make. Verizon has just confirmed the sweet new smartphone for a December 2nd launch. It'll sell for $200, after a $100 rebate. If you can, try to pick this mobile up at Best Buy to avoid the hassle of dealing with rebate paperwork.
As previously stated, the Omnia II is a WinMo 6.5 smartphone. Don't let that bias you against it. While Window's Mobile isn't the best OS, the Omnia II is hot enough to be a worthwhile purchase. It packs a 5 MP camera, GPS and WiFi, 8 GB of built-in memory, a microSDHC slot, and a 3.7" AMOLED touchscreen. It also packs Samsung's TouchWiz interface and uses Opera 9.5 for a browser, which should minimize the suck from 6.5.Posted on Mon, 23 Nov 2009 11:00:24 CST | by Robert Evans
