Will Best Buy offer the lowest priced netbook on Black Friday?
It certainly looks this way right now. Best Buy advertised the Compaq Mini 110C-1100DX Intel Atom based netbook to be on sale for $179.99.
There was some early rumor about an $149.99 netbook deal from OfficeMax, but the official OfficeMax Black Friday 2009 Ad is not offering any netbook.
Walmart also decided not to offer a Black Friday Netbook deal this year on Black Friday.
Several stores including Target offer a $199 Acer Aspire One netbook.
Amazon will offer a Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook with Integrated TV Tuner on Black Friday, but has not unveiled the price yet.
The Black Friday bargain netbook configurations is usually consisting of an Intel Atom N270 CPU at 1.6Ghz, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM, 10.1-inch WSVGA screen, 3-cell battery and Windows XP. This enough for normal use, but of course the latest netbooks (Asus 1005HA, Toshiba Mini NB205 or Acer D250-1633) offer more storage and more performance).
Bargain netbooks are also quite a bit under pressure by the sub-$200 Notebook deals that Best Buy and Walmart offer.
NewEgg has pre-announced yesterday to sell a 6-cell netbook starting today for $189. It is not known yet what model.
There is still a lot of dynamics in the netbook pricing. Especially for Windows 7 netbooks and the last generation XP netbooks. A good place to check the latest price is on the Amazon netbook bestseller list.
If you know about a better netbook deal, please post it below in the comments.
