If I've learned one thing as a tech journalist, it's that two gadgets are always preferable to one. That's the primary allure of the new LG eXpo (for AT&T). It's a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone that packs a detachable pico-projector (Slashgear). According to the product page, the eXpo also has a 5 MP camera, GPS, and 3.2" touchscreen.
The eXpo is powered by the infamous 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and protected by a fingerprint scanner. LG brags that the projector can create images up to 40" in size. The eXpo has a full sliding QWERTY keyboard and Bluetooth 2.1. It'll be out on AT&T's network on December 7, 2009. Yet another gorgeous smartphone, shackled to AT&T's network. It almost gets me teary.
Even with the carrier and OS taken into account, the eXpo is one of the sweetest smartphones ever conceived. It packs processing power, a good camera, a projector, and full sliding keyboard into one svelte package. Nice work, LG. Now load another version up with Android and start selling it on Verizon or T-Mo.
