2010 is the most exciting edition of Microsoft Office in...well, ever. This is due in no small part to the fact that there will be a free version of it available for those of us too cheap to want to pay for Powerpoint and the like. While Redmond hasn't officially sent out word of when Office 2010 will launch, Neowin (via Gizmodo) has received confirmation that the new edition will launch in June.
Pricing information hasn't leaked out yet, but we do know all the different editions we can look forward to seeing. There will be Starter, Home and Student, Home and Business, Standard, Professional and Professional Plus. The free version will apparently only be available on new computers, and will give users access to Word and Excel. This 'free' edition will also be ad-supported.Posted on Tue, 1 Dec 2009 06:00:00 CST | by Robert Evans
