We've just heard word via Akihabara news that PMP manufacturer Oppo has decided to start working on an Android smartphone. So far, we know that it will feature a 3.5" WQGA capacitive multitouch screen, a QWERTY keyboard, and WiFi. This device also sports a row of lateral buttons that are supposed to indicate the current temperature, humidity, and date.
In the photos, all of those lights just look blue. I'm not sure if there's some sort of code to interpret or what. The feature sounds cool, if not groundbreaking. The phone renders themselves look fantastic. Oppo's phone is going to be a little thicker than we're used to seeing, but I really like the form factor. Oppo expects this smartphone to launch in Q1 2010. No model name, exact date, or price information exists yet.Posted on Wed, 16 Dec 2009 09:47:47 CST | by Robert Evans
