Marvell Brings Quad-Core ARM Chip To CES 2010

This is shaping up to be one hell of a CES. There have been a number of "big firsts" this year, one of which is Marvell's creation of the world's first quad-core processor for the ARM instruction set. This new processor is based around the same architecture as the older Armada 500 and 600 processor series. Marvell can now deliver "gigahertz-plus" processing in each core.
"Now, with this announcement of its quadcore technology, Marvell is showing the world the ARM ecosystem's true potential while cementing its position among the leaders in advanced CPU development for mass market consumer applications." said Rob Enderle, analyst for the Enderle group.
