Freenet.de shows VOIP Mobile Phone at CeBit

German communications company Freenet.de AG is showing a wi-fi mobile phone that supports Voice over IP telephony at the CeBit show starting this Thursday.
The mobile phone is made by french company Alcatel and currently named freenet iP1. The VOIP mobile phone uses the Cordless Telephony Profile (CTP) to connect to a phone system integrated into a DSL router when the user is at home and handles phone calls via VIOP. When on the road the phone works as a standard GSM phone. There is no launch and pricing information available yet. More details on Heise.de (German) and freenet.de AG
Vonage which recently surpassed 500,000 subscriber lines announced a similar VOIP Mobile phone called F-1000 in January (see photo below). The Vonage F-1000 should be actually be available this Spring.
