Sharp announces a new Zaurus called SL-C1000.
The new SL-C1000 does not feature a hard-drive as its bigger older SL-C3000. The new Sharp Linux PDA seems to be optimized for online applications. Sharp also highlights a music player that supports MP3 and WMA.
Looks and design are similar to the SL-C3000. Storage is provided by 128MB Flash Memory and 64MB SDRAM. The screen is the same as in the SL-C3000 featuring 640x480 pixels. CPU is a Intel PXA270 and 416mHz. The new Zaurus still does not integrate wi-fi. The connectivity needs to be established through CF-Cards. The SL-C1000 is prepared for FOMA, Vodafone and AIR-EDGE data services.
The new SL-C1000 will ship on March 18th in Japan. No pricing announced yet.
More details in Sharp press-release. First seen on AkihabaraNews (French).
