Beauty can breed problems. While the 27" iMac is one of the most desirable products in Apple's line, it's also the one most riddled with issues. Now, after weeks of support threads and complaints and attempted patch-fixes, SlashGear states that Apple has halted production of the 27" iMac. Sources (HardMac) state that all assembly lines producing the new iMac have now been stopped.
If Apple has halted production, we're unlikely to ever hear about it from them. This has got to be a bit of an embarrassment for a company that prides itself on beautiful, nigh-flawless products with pristine openings. When they do settle just what is wrong with the iMac, I'm sure it'll make an interesting story. I'd be surprised to hear that Apple's been stumped for weeks by something simple.
