We mentioned the Slingbox Personal Broadcaster device the first time last August, it looks like start-up Sling Media gets closer to actually release this innovative media gadget.
The Slingbox definitely features a unique product design with literal written its features on top of the casing. Additionally the box looks like a piece of chocolate. The promise of the Slingbox is to redirect, or "placeshift,” the TV signal from any cable box, satellite receiver, or personal video recorder to a viewer’s location and device of choice – whether in another room in the home or anywhere in the world with a high-speed Internet connection. The Slingbox measures 10.6x1.6x4inch and weighs 1.5lbs. It has a TV tuner built-in and RCA Audio, Composite Video, S-video and RF/Coaxial inputs. It has an IR emitter and a Ethernet plug. Wireless network access is not built-in. The MSRP is $249 and the shipping date is 1st half of 2005. Since the last story in August the price has gone up and the launch has been delayed 6 month. The Slingbox already won awards at this years CES. More details on Sling Media's site. Posted on Tue, 22 Mar 2005 10:25:00 CST | by Luigi Lugmayr I4U News Product Reviews All I4U News Categories
