Tapwave: Maker of Zodiac Changes Strategy
Topic: Portable Devices

The Tapwave Zodiac Palm OS based Game console was a hot topic in 2003. I have been at an early presentation of Tapwave back then in Palo Alto California. The story I wrote back then was titled: Tapwave Zodiac is the best Palm PDA. That I think is still true, maybe LifeDrive is changing that. The Zodiac is obviously not the best portable Game Console these days with Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS on the market.
Tapland has published comments from Tapwave's SVP of Marketing Byron Connell on the future of Tapwave and the Zodiac.
Apparently Tapwave is switching gears and is following an OEM strategy and moving away from selling Tapwave branded products.
In my mind that is the only way to go anyway. I actually thought PalmOne would have bought them by now.
Joel (or was it the new guy) over at Gizmodo seems to have raised some emotions with the headline "Tapwave gives up on Zodiac" amongst Zodiac fans triggering a special midnight story.
