Nintendo Revolution is a Virtual Game Console

We reported life during the Nintendo E3 presentation about the Nintendo Revolution. Now the online traffic jam has settled and we can take a look how much Nintendo really revealed about their next generation game console.
The Nintendo Revolution console (hi-res photo) is backward compatible with the GameCube and will have downloadable access to 20 years of games originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
Nintendo is showing a prototype casing at the E3 2005 show. The final design is not set yet. A SD memory slot enables consumers to expand the 512MB internal memory of the system. The self-loading media bay supports the smaller GameCube discs and the new 12cm optical discs for the Revolution. An optional attachment is supposedly enabling DVD movie playback.
Besides that the Nintendo Revolution has 512MB RAM, wireless controllers, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi nothing was revealed about the specifications. The CPU is from IBM and has the codename Broadway. The GPU is from ATI and is code-named Hollywood.
The Nintendo Revolution arrives somewhen in 2006.
