Now that the dust has settled after the blinding marketing blitzes by Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo the cold hard reality of waiting until the new next generation game consoles are actually in our hands.
Good thing there is lots to read and discuss about how real the Sony PS3 performance will be.

Currently the hype is more around the Sony PS3. Major Nelson (Microsoft Xbox Team member) over at his blog is trying to change that with a very in-depth performance comparison of the Microsoft Xbox 360 with the Sony PS3. He shows lots of diagrams and the Xbox 360 comes off better than the PS3 in most. I linked to Heise (CT) story that outlined that the Xbox 360 is to slow for HDTV game play just recently.

As I am not a total expert in hardware performance issues I am not commenting it. For me the Sony PS3 story is still more exciting than the Microsoft Xbox 360 one, but who knows if the Sony PS3 will really live up to what Sony is promising - and the wait continues...
