It is Official: Apple switches to Intel

Engadget scored Paul Boutin to blog live from the Steve Jobs keynote from the WWDC in San Francisco. As reported the big topic will be about the switch to Intel.
Steve Jobs calls it Transitions. Basically saying that IBM has no future roadmap for the PowerPC and Intel does. Intel offers more performance at reduced power consumption. The
transition is supposed to be complete by the WWDC in 2007.
Even Paul Otellini, President & CEO of Intel goes on stage at the WWDC.

The Developer Transition Kit is available starting today for $999 to all Apple Developer Connection Select and Premier members. Intel plans to provide industry leading development tools support for Apple later this year, including the Intel C/C++ Compiler for Apple, Intel Fortran Compiler for Apple, Intel Math Kernel Libraries for Apple and Intel Integrated Performance Primitives for Apple.
