Intel and Nokia bring WiMAX to 3G Networks

The Intel pushed broadband wireless WiMAX technology (IEEE 802.16e) is making some headway.
Nokia and Intel are collaborating on WiMAX mobile clients, network infrastructure and market development. 3G infrastructures could be equiped with WiMAX in addition. More details in the Nokia press-release.
WiMAX is also already rolled out for real. The Wimax Telecom GmbH in Austria started to setup a WiMAX network that goes online September 1st. They aim at areas where people cannot get DSL.
