Apple Intel Partnership Analyses

A week passed since the news broke that Apple will dump IBM CPUs in favor of Intel CPUs for their Macs and iBooks. The press has been busy to unravel what this sudden move means and what triggered it.
Apple and Intel might go against Microsoft and Sony in the living room battle with their own home multimedia and gaming system. Apparently Sony tried to persuade Apple to jump on the CELL Chip band wagon.
The other story is of course that an Intel powered Apple computer could easier run Windows Apps.

Also on MacWorld is a story on how Intel sees the Apple partnership. I actually thought the announcement would help the Intel stock, but it did not react at all. Intel's stock actually went down.
