As reported BenQ bought the Siemens Mobile business last week.

An interview with the BenQ CEO Lee Kuen-Yao shed some light on how BenQ sees the future of Siemens mobile phones. Interestingly BenQ seems not to see too much value in the Siemens brand, as they will start selling BenQ Siemens double branded handsets starting already in October.

Other interesting points are that only top-end handsets might still be produced in Germany and that BenQ sees a lot of value in the existing business relationships of Siemens Mobile with top providers like Vodafone.
