Bill Gates is quoted to have said that the Microsoft Xbox 360 might support Toshiba's HD-DVD format in the future.
The first version of the Xbox 360 will only support standard DVDs. Toshiba and Microsoft just announced a partnership in the HD-DVD player area.

I think it is a bit dangerous of Microsoft talking about a future Xbox 360 model. This sure makes some prospects uneasy, as to maybe buy to early. The Sony PS3 will have a next generation DVD format support.
