Epson and Junghans Develop Global Radio-Controlled Watch

Seiko-Epson and German Junghans developed solar-charged radio-controlled analog watch that works in Japan, Europe and in the United States.
The new radio-controlled watch movement developed jointly with Junghans is capable of receiving radio signals transmitted from Frankfurt, Germany, Colorado, U.S.A., and Fukushima and Kyushu in Japan.
Seiko plans to put a radio-controlled watch model installed with this newly developed movement on the domestic Japanese market in September 2005.

Radio-controlled or Atomic wrist watches are getting to be very common. Besides Seiko and Junghans, Casio is also very active in this market.
