Sony announced today a new Cyber-shot T-Series slim digital camera: The Cyber-shot DSC-T5.
It is a bit surprising move by Sony to announce the DSC-T5, where they already have the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 on the market since a while.
In any case the new Sony DSC-T5 has stunning looks with color accented case designs. The technical specifications of a 2.5 inch screen, Carl Zeiss optics with 3x zoom and the 5.1MP resolution did not change compared to the Sony DSC-T7. The battery life seems to be extended a bit with the DSC-T5. Ohter differences besides the design are not obvious to me. There are no measurements given in the Sony press-release. From the photos the DSC-T5 is similar size to the Sony DSC-T7.
Good thing the Sony DSC-T5 is featuring the sliding lens cover as the original DSC-T1 did. I still love that one.
The Sony DSC-T5 will be available in September for about $350 (red, black and champagne gold options will be available in October).
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T5 comes with a NP-FT1 InfoLithium battery, BC-CS3 battery charger, multi-connector cable, wrist strap and software CD-ROM. Optional accessories include the SPK-THB sports pack, CSS-TNA Cyber-shot Station™ cradle, and LCS-THC form-fitting leather case.
More details in the Sony press-release.
