Casio announces the Casio Exilim EX-Z500 in Japan.

Casio just recently introduced the Casio EX-S500 slim 5MP digital camera. The EX-S500 is shipping from Amazon.com started shipping them a couple days ago.

The new Casio Exilim EX-Z500 (Exilim Zoom) features a 2.7 inch display, 5MP resolution, 8.7MB built-in, SD-Card slot, 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom and USB 2.0. The width of the new Casio is 20.5mm. The lens itself retracts to 18.6mm. Overall measurements of the Casio Exilim EX-Z500 are 88.5mm x 57mm x 20.5mm. The weight is 112g.
The new Exilim comes in three colors: Silver, Gold and Black.
The main difference to the EX-S500 I can see so far is that the EX-Z500 has a .5 inch larger screen. More details in the Casio press-release (Japanese) and on the Casio EX-Z500 product page (Japanese).
