A report from South Korea is just started to circulate: A South Korean 28 year old man dies after playing nonstop for 50 hours online games.
The man played some kind of on-line battle simulation games at the cybercafe and only made toilet breaks and took a couple power naps. He died most likely from heart failure.
More details in this Reuters story (Thanks Yizhi S.).
In June we reported about the killing of an online gamer, because he was selling a virtual sword from the Legend of Mir 3 that did not belong to him.
Gaming has become a life style and has more and more social and other impacts on daily life. It can as the case above also of course be highly addictive. There are tons of people who play all night online role playing games. Nothing wrong with that as long as you eat, drink and do not loose your job and wife/husband.
