Sony goes organic with their mp3 player designs. Walkman Bean is the new flash memory based MP3 player from Sony.
The Sony Bean got it's name obviously from its bean shape. It features a direct ‘pop-up’ USB jack, a single line OLED display and 50 hours play time. Sony is really ahead when it comes to battery life. The Sony Bean also features a high-speed charge mode, that gives 3 hours play-time from a short 3 minute charging time - nice!
Walkman Bean will be available in both 512MB and 1 GB capacity (NW-E305 and NW-E307). There will also be a FM-Tuner model.
The Sony Walkman Bean will be available in the following colors: Tropical Ice (Blue), Cotton Candy (Pink), Licorice (Black) and Coconut (White). All
colors take their inspiration from various flavors of jellybean.
There is no pricing and launch date yet available in the Sony Europe issued press-release.
Update:
The press-release on Sony USA says the Walkman Bean will be shipping in October. The NW-E305 model will be offered in white or blue with 512MB of capacity for about $130.
The 1 GB NW-E307 model will come in a choice of pink or black for about $180.
Sony's online store SonyStyle already takes pre-orders.
