We reported the other day that Amazon started taking pre-orders on the Microsoft Xbox 360 in Europe. Now EBGames seems to be the first to take online pre-orders for the XBox 360 in the United States. They sent out a Newsletter yesterday night announcing the Xbox 360 pre-order deals.
EBGames only offers two Xbox 360 bundles:
The Xbox 360 Ultimate Bundle contains the Xbox 360 Premium, Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3, Extra Wireless Controller, Play & Charge Kit (for extra controller) and Rechargeable Battery Pack (for included controller).
The Xbox 360 Ultimate Bundle sets you back $699.92.
The Xbox 360 Core Bundle contains the Xbox 360 Core system, Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3, Extra Wired Controller and Memory Unit.
The Xbox 360 Core Bundle sells for $599.93.
This are scary high prices. But this just shows how much money we will spend sooner or later on owning a new game console. Games and accessories will be bought at some point. $700 to get started is quite an barrier. In Europe Amazon offers just the two Xbox 360 console packages without a game bundle. The premium Xbox 360 has a price of $399.99, somebody will start to offer pre-order just for the consoles in the USA as well. Or you just plan on camping outside a BestBuy to pick one up on release day.
