Sony Japan announces (raw translation) the Qualia 016 (Q016-WE1) small digital camera.

A tiny sony camera was rumored around since a long time. See this I4U Gadget Girl Photo which is a couple of years old. The camera looks a bit different but has about the same form factor.

The astonishing small size of main body is 69.1mm in width x 24.0mm in height x 16.8mm depth.
The 2.1 Mega Pixel Camera features a 4x digital zoom. The storage medium is of course Sony Memory Stick. (Memory Stick Duo)
An optional flash unit can be attached to the side of the Sony Qualia 016.

Available for 380,000yen on June 24th.
