Yesterday I reported about the E Ink Electronic Paper Development Kit and I totally forgot that Philips showed at the IFA 2005 the Readius, a bendable electronic paper prototype.
The flexible epaper used in the Philips Readius is from a company called Polymer Vision (kind of a Philips Spin-off).
The bendable electronic paper from Polymer Vision is based on organic/polymer TFTs. Those TFTs are applied to a plastic substrate with a low temperature method. The substrate and the TFT layer are only 25 μm thick. On top of the TFTs is the display technology, which Polymer Vision is licensing apparently from E Ink.
More details on the Polymer Vision site (Thanks Christian R.).
