Casio develops a 2.5 inch color LCD Screen with integrated audio speaker.

The 2.5 inch Casio display has 960x240 (320x240 actual pixels) and is 3.2mm thick. The speaker is made from piezoelectric ceramics. Casio can offer the display in mono and with stereo speakers. The sound quality is supposed to be good.
The Casio Sound LCD display could drive the size of portable video players down even more.

NEC introduced a LCD display with integrated speaker using the flat panel speaker technology from NXT in 2003.

NXT also already released their SoundVu screen loudspeaker technology in a Toshiba mobile phone.
