Official: Google Wants to Offer Free WiFi for San Francisco

Google apparently has answered an RFI issued by San Francisco Major Mayor Gavin Newsom to build a WiFi network for San Francisco.
Google official said they would offer 300kbit/s Wifi connectivity throughout San Francisco for free.

This update on the Google WiFi plans adds to the news about a Google VPN client a couple weeks ago.
