Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun (via Nikkei.Net [Subscription]) reports about LCD TV manufacturers complaint about a direct quality comparison to Plasma TV at the CEATEC 2005.
The Matushita, Pioneer and Hitachi supported Advanced PDP Development Corp. had setup a booth comparing Plasma TVs next to LCD TVs. Sharp and other LCD TV manufactures got them to stop it on grounds of comparative advertising. ADPD said its just an objective technology show case.
Kind of funny story. I for my part favor Plasmas for 42 inch and up, but I would
also not say no to a Sharp AQUOS
65 inch LCD HDTV.
AkihabaraNews has nice photos of tons of TVs at the CEATEC 2005.
