HandHeld Entertainment announces a new version of it's low cost portable media player ZVUE.

The new ZVUE features on-board flash memory, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and will be compatible with Windows Media Video (WMV) and Windows Media Audio (WMA) DRM. The next generation ZVUE will also support SD/MMC flash memory cards in addition to the built-in storage.
The new ZVUE is thinner than the currently available ZVUE player.
HandHeld will publicly unveil the next generation ZVUE in January at the CES 2006, missing out on this Holiday shopping season. I guess HHeld just uses the current hype about a potential Apple iPod video (or not) announcement to release news about their still a couple month away product release.
The new ZVUE is supposed to have an MSRP between $149 and $199.
