Digital video recorder company TiVo Inc. is supposed to announce an enhancement to its current TiVoToGo that enables subscribers to transfer recorded television programming to the new Apple iPod or the Sony PSP.
Apparently the WSJ (subscription) broke the story today. TiVo is doing this without Apple's involvement. Users of TiVoToGo have to transfer the TV show to a PC, where it is getting converted for the use on portable devices. Currently TiVoToGo works for Microsoft based PMPs.
TiVo plans to begin testing of the new TiVoToGo in the next weeks. The feature could be
released to TiVo Series2 subscribers in Q1 2006 for a one time fee of one-time fee around $15 to $30.
