GPS was one of the future features for the Sony PSP I4U readers requested a couple months back. Now a Sony PSP homebrew genius hacked together a GPS hardware accessory and a graphical navigation software to run on the Sony PSP.
GPSP runs on LUAplayer 0.11 (needs 1.5 firmware, it is a loader for homebrew code) or later.
On the hardware side a little circuitry is taking the input from a GPS mouse (e.g. from Garmin) and retransmits them slower to the Sony PSP. The GPSP software is reading this data and displays it on the PSP screen.
This Sony PSP Hack is quite amazing, and another sign companies should be more open to the creativity of the community, great things could come out of it.
The Sony PSP homebrew scene still seems to grow, let's see what comes next.
