Fujitsu Hitachi beats Panasonic in the race for the world's smallest full HDTV resolution (1920x1080pixels) Plasma TV.
In October Panasonic took the lead with a 50 inch 1080p Plasma HDTV. Fujitsu Hitachi announced
now a 42 inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.
The pixel size is 0.16mm(x3) x 0.48mm. No word yet on when Fujitsu Hitachi would actually bring this Full HD Plasma to the market.
I actually would be already happy with the 50 inch Full HD Plasma TV from Panasonic. But there is also no word yet, when this one will be available. Full HD Plasmas would have the highest resolution for years to come. There are lots of discussions if it is worth it for today's available content. If you plan to own a TV for about 10 years, then I think it is very well worth considering a full HD TV.
Near term excuse to buy a 1080p TV is the Sony PS3.
