iRex Technologies, a Philips spin-off introduced their first ePaper device for reading and writing.

The iRex electronic paper display combines wireless networking and touch screen technologies. The 8.1 inch display display features 16 grey levels.
The iRex Iliad ePaper is supposed to be available in April 2006.
What happened to the Philips Readius, which was shown at the IFA 2005? An ePaper reader that is not flexible to be rolled up is kind of outdated. Sony has one of those on the market since 2004 (Sony Librie). Ok, the iRex iliad lets users apparently capture user input. Is this than a just a huge PDA? Anyway lets have a closer look when it actually is in stores. I hope iRex Technologies is moving fast and is able to bring flexible ePaper readers to the market. A fold or roll-out newspaper in my pocket is what I want.
