I thought Thomson is getting out of the Consumer Electronics business. See this report from early December. But Thomson held a press-conference at the CES to introduce several products including a new cool looking Lyra X3000 PMP.
Update:
Ships now from Wal-mart for $388.87
Thomson's new Lyra X3000 is also a PVR and is supposed to support DirectTV2Go. The Lyra X3000 features a 3.6-inch TFT color LCD screen with 320 x 240 resolution. The new Personal Multimedia Recorder is able to store 40 feature-length films. I guess it has a 20GB hard-drive. The new Lyra weighs eight ounces and is only 3/4 of an inch thick.
The LYRA X3000 by RCA is available in January with a suggested retail price of $399.
More details on Gizmodo and on the Thomson site.
