NetGear together with Skype announced the world's first WiFi Skype phone at the CES 2006.

The NetGear Skype phone works without a PC and just needs access to a WiFi network.
The NETGEAR phone is pre-loaded with Skype’s software, ready out-of-the-box to use with a wireless network. All a user needs to do after turning on the phone is enter a Skype username and password.
In addition to the Skype Wifi phone, NETGEAR and Skype also announced that the NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless Router (WPN824) with Smart MIMO technology.

Maybe the $2.6 Billion eBay paid for Skype has actually been a reasonable price. Why? My mom just started to use Skype. Can you believe it? She is now chatting hours with her relatives on her antique notebook.
