Nintendo updated its sales number for the Nintendo DS. Earlier reports talked about 10 million Nintendo DS portable game consoles sold world-wide. Now Nintendo says they actually sold already 13 million units. Nintendo's strategy to focus on innovative game play and not on hardware performance worked for the Nintendo DS. Let's see if the same strategy works for the Nintendo Revolution.
Nintendo has sold 5 million units in Japan, 4 million in the United States and 3.5 million in Europe and 500,000 in other regions.
The Nintendo DS turns out to be a very nice success for Nintendo.
Sony did not reveal new Sony PSP sales numbers, but they should not be disappointing.
A Nintendo DS can be had for $129.99 at Amazon.com. This is almost just half the price a Sony PSP is selling for.
