Slingbox Goes Mac and PAL

Sling Media announced the PAL version of its video place-shifting Slingbox at the CES 2006. Today they announced that they will demo SlingPlayer for Apple computers at the MacWorld in San Francisco.

The Wait for the OS X Slingbox Client
SlingPlayer Mac is giving Mac users the ability to watch and control their home television from an Internet-connected Macintosh computer anywhere in the world.
The software client is still in alpha. Sling Media conducting a demonstration outside the Macworld Conference and Expo (meaning you need to make an appointment to see it).
Sling Media will deliver SlingPlayer Mac in the second quarter of 2006.

The PAL version of the Slingbox is supposed to come in the first half of 2006. See this press-release for details. A while back Philips launched a rumor that a new Slingbox is coming at CES 2006, but it just was the PAL version.
The Slingbox is a great device. I am actually thinking to have my friend in the US set one up, so I can watch US TV. I will set one up her in Germany so he can watch German Cable TV.
