New York based Anigmo introduces a line of touch-less dimmer switches for home installation.
The dimmer switches use patented proximity technology that detects a user’s hand through most materials. This makes it possible to hide the dimmer behind decorative plates made from wood, stone or glass.
To switch light by clapping is now officially replaced by waving. To dim the light you just have to hold your hand over the switch.
I find this touch-less dimmer switch extremely cool. I would hide them inside the wall giving away no evidence that there is a switch. Just imagine your friends seeing you wave in-front of the wall to switch on the light.
The Anigmo touch-less dimmer fits into standard switch wall boxes.
Anigmo will demonstrate the switches at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show 2006 in New York March 9th-12th.
More details on the Anigmo site.
