The New York Police (NYPD) wants to play some real Need for Speed in the streets of the big Apple. The NYPD orders 15 of the new 2006 Dodge Charger Muscle Cars.

The 6.1 Liter SRT HEMI SMPI V8 Dodge Charger has 425hp. They say the V8 Dodge Charger is the fastest accelerating Police car ever tested.
The classic Dodge Charger was released in 1966. The 1969 model starred in the "The Dukes of Hazzard" TV series.

I do not know where in New York you would be able to actually have fun with a Dodge Charger. Maybe they should have better settled on some Mini Coopers.
