Seiko tries to dazzle us again with another revision of their Bluetooth wristwatch.
The Seiko Bluetooth TR-006 is supposed to go on sale in 2007. I already say it is not going to happen, based on the history of the Seiko Bluetooth watch. The size of this Bluetooth prototype watch is also just way too big. I love big watches, but this one is just nearly as big as a mobile phone strapped to your wrist - so what is the point?
What can you do with a Bluetooth Wristwatch? It can display incoming calls, messages and notifications, which are convenient features. The Seiko BT watch also warns you if you forget your phone.
Seiko demoed the first Bluetooth wristwatch back in 2001. Then in 2004 they generated some buzz with the Seiko Phatch Bluetooth concept.
More details in this Seiko press-release (Japanese). First seen on AkihabaraNews. The site also has a link to a japanese TV show video demonstrating the Seiko Bluetooth watch.
The Seiko Bluetooth wristwatch story is similar to the Samsung Wrist phone history. Only difference, it looks like Samsung stopped working on their wrist phone. I did not see any new update on it since
