CNET reports that Applied Nanotech and manufacturer Da Ling agreed to a trial production of Carbon Nanotube TVs.
Carbon Nanotube TVs work like CRTs but are as slim as LCD TVs. Applied Nanotech showed a 25 inch Carbon Nanotube TV prototype last September (photo). The image quality is still pretty bad, but maybe it is just a matter of money to make it work right. The first nanotube TVs could be ready by 2008.
Besides Carbon Nanotube, SED is a hot future TV technology that Canon and Toshiba are pushing.
More details about carbon nanotube TVs on the Applied Nanotech site.
