At the GDC 06 in San Jose, Sony's Phil Harrison revealed in his keynote several interesting news about the upcoming Sony PS3.
Sony will launch the PS3 early November, which is more accurate than the earlier announced November release date.
Like with the Sony PSP games will be region free. Movies stay region encoded.
In the keynote comments and the absence of the boomerang controller are hinting to a redesign.
The new PS3 controller is supposed to be presented at the E3 2006 in May.
Phil Harrison also said that there will be playable Sony PS3 consoles at the E3 2006 show floor.
If the 60GB HDD will be bundled was left unconfirmed.
The Sony Online network will also be a focus for the PS3 to distribute movie and music content onto the PS3.
