This is a glimpse of the future of gaming: Ritual Entertainment's upcoming episodic game title SiN Episode displayed through IO2 Technology's Heliodisplay M2.

We reported about the Heliodisplay mid-air projector the first time back in 2003. IO2 Technology has now their 2nd generation Heliodisplay developed.
The guys at Ritual Entertainment published a cool video (zip download) showing SiN Episodes characters displayed through the Heliodisplay M2. It really looks like the Starwars R2D2 projections including the interferences. It still will take years that such a display will be in our living room, but it will come.

The latest Heliodisplay M2i is also interactive enabling users to control the image with their hands. The current version of the Heliodisplay projects 30" diagonal images in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio. The product can actually be rented or bought. More details on the I2O site.
