Giatex introduced a new stretching bike dubbed Chiba.
The Giatex Chiba is made from Alloy and is therefore very light and does not rust. Giatex recommends the Chiba for taking it on your Yacht.
Giatex says folding is bad stretching is better - keeps the bike sturdier. The Chiba comes with front and rear V-brakes, Shimano derailleur, kickstand, 2-tone comfort saddle, front and rear fenders, chainwheel guard, bell, full set of reflectors and folding pedals (no stretching pedals?).
The Giatex Chiba is currently available in 2 models, a 6-speed 16" wheel size weighing only 25½ lbs at a MSRP of $499.95 US and a 6-speed 20” wheel size weighing only 28¼ lbs at a MSRP of $569.95 US. Additions to the CHIBA line for summer/fall 2006 will include an 8-speed model and 2 models with internal gears - 3 and 8 speeds.
