Warner will release the first hybrid HD DVD disc on May 9th featuring Jennifer Ansiton's Rumor Has It.

A hybrid HD DVD disc contains both the HD DVD and DVD version of the movie on a single disc. This is done by storing the content for each format on a different layer. The hybrid HD DVD disc work in HD DVD players and DVD players.
The price is supposed to be $39.99. The standard DVD version of the Rumor Has It sells for $16.96.
I am not sure if there is a market for hybrid HD DVD discs. The downside is that the full capacity of the HD DVD disc cannot be used as one layer is formatted as standard DVD.
