According to a story released by Business Wire earlier this morning, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, the two formats competing for the next-generation standard, will both be fighting for attention at the 2006 MEDIA-TECH Expo in Frankfurt, Germany, which runs from May 30 through June 1.
The managing director of MEDIA-TECH, Bryan Ekus, says, "To my knowledge, this is the first event of the year where both competing next generation format groups are presenting not just their products, but their technologies and the insight to manufacturing them. Whatever format will eventually prevail in the end, all of our members and exhibitors will be ready for it."
Blu-Ray is backed by Sony, who will be using the format to run games on the PlayStation 3, and the first HD-DVD player was released earlier this year, but there is still no clear winner.
More information on the MEDIA-TECH Expo is available at the show's official website.
